How To Teach 7 Habits

Teaching Kindergarteners the 7 Habits

  • Encourage kindergarteners to reflect on and share their feelings daily, fostering emotional awareness.

  • Set small, achievable goals like buttoning up or tying shoelaces, celebrating each milestone with quality time in their favorite activities to nurture growth.

  • Prompt them to perform one daily act of kindness, checking it off to build responsibility and awareness of others' needs.

  • Establish routines balancing the four human dimensions: body (healthy eating, exercise, rest), heart (time with parents), spirit (nature relaxation), and mind (reading, creating).

Our 7 Habits of Happy Kids program at school makes learning these habits fun!

Teaching Primary School Students the 7 Habits

  • Guide primary students to understand their emotions and focus on their circle of control, fostering a can-do mindset.

  • Help them set clear academic and non-academic goals with defined timelines.

  • Teach them to identify what matters most, respecting their unique priorities.

  • Encourage win-win thinking to balance their needs with others’.

  • Empower them to take responsibility for their choices, learning from mistakes without fear.

  • As role models, parents and teachers build trust through credibility.

The 7 Habits of Happy Kids program at school equips students with leadership skills for school and beyond.

Developing Secondary Students with the 7 Habits

  • Help secondary students overcome limiting paradigms, viewing challenges as temporary growth opportunities.

  • Encourage them to find their voice and set realistic goals.

  • Build high-trust relationships, as teens are sensitive and need strong bonds.

  • Model empathic listening and respectful communication to consider others’ perspectives.

  • Address their stress by spending quality time fulfilling their four dimensions: body (exercise), heart (connection), mind (learning), and spirit (nature or religion).

  • Demonstrate positive family interactions for them to emulate.

Empowering Teachers with the 7 Habits

  • Teachers face increasing workloads, reducing student interaction time.

  • Empower students early to take charge of their learning, lightening teachers’ burdens.

  • Shift paradigms to see students as capable, fostering accountability rather than piling on work.

  • Balance personal and professional life by setting clear goals for the school year, prioritizing essential tasks, and saying no to the unimportant.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and the 4 Essential Roles of Leadership help teachers manage work and collaborate effectively.  Discover how these tools can transform your teaching.

Strengthening Family Relationships with the 7 Habits

  • Parenting is complex, balancing children, partners, careers, and more. Shift your paradigm to see challenges differently and handle them effectively.

  • Prioritize what truly matters, scheduling time for key responsibilities and sidelining the unimportant.

  • Spend one-on-one time with each family member— afternoon tea, a movie, or a walk — to foster open communication.

  • Create lasting memories to strengthen bonds during tough times.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families has transformed thousands of families by encouraging reflection and improved relationships.
